We spent a few days in ND celebrating the life of Darren's Grandpa, Martin Kuhn. For anyone who knew him or even had the chance to briefly meet him, he made some type of impression on your life. It was a sad occasion, but we enjoyed spending it with family and telling many 'Grandpa Martin' stories. Here are a few pics from the weekend.

Nadia and Phoebe...

Nadia spending some time with Great Grandma Maggie

Nadia loved playing with Hannah!!
Still obsessed with the iphone!
Darren and Darrell looking spiffy!!

This was the poem that was read at the funeral. I had never heard it before and loved it!

I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beginning..to the end.He noted that first came her date of birth And spoke the following date with tears, 1964-1994But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time That she spent alive on earth..And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own;The cars..the house..the cash,What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard. Are there things you”d like to change? For you never know how much time is left,That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what’’s true and real,And always try to understand The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we”ve never loved before. If we treat each other with respect,And more often wear a smile..Remembering that this special dash Might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy’’s being read With your life’’s actions to rehash..Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent your dash?

Our First Snowman of the Year!

Arrowwood Resort

We had a few days off over President's weekend and wanted to do something fun so we packed up the minivan and off we went to Alexandria, MN to an indoor water park. My boss (from Atlanta) made fun of me as it seems to be a tradition now to take the girls to a water park...but what do you do in MN in the winter??

Lisa and Meg met us there and we had a fun filled weekend of crafts and swimming. Darren is one lucky man to always go on vacation with 5 girls and him. :)

Nadia and Nora in their fort...
What would a weekend away be without the projector and movie on the wall night?Poor Megan 'fell' off the bed...OK, maybe she was kicked off by her loving wife. She was hurting while the girls climbed all over her and Lisa and I tried to catch our breath from laughing. Make your own shirt day! We were having so much fun making the girls shirts, we decided to grab one for all the adults too.

My Princess

Nadia's obsession with my iPhone and her princess outfits...

House project take100...

At some point we will be putting our house up for sale and knew that we would need to replace the carpet in our bedrooms. We figured we might as well enjoy it for a little while before we move (Don't get too excited Mom...it's still about 2 years away). This is what our house looked like for a week while we moved all of our bedrooms into the living room/kitchen. Can you say hoarders?? Our room with new carpet!

I also put up decals...this has a weird reflection, but looks really good in person!

We also decided to paint Nadia's room a neutral color and get rid of the green.

A Few of My Favorite Things...

Nadia is quite the little Daddy's girl and it's easy to see why! She loves to make Dad dress up in girly aprons and play with her princesses. She even calls him Prince Eric and is very quick to correct me when I call him Darren! Nadia and I are both lucky to have such a good Daddy/Husband in our life!!

MOA with Logan!

After a long week away for work, I needed to get Nadia out and do something fun. She loves the Mall of America and going on all the rides. She thought it was called American Idol for the longest time and would ask Darren and I if we could take her to the American Idol. :)

Krista and Logan met us there and the kids loved going on the kiddie rides.
We also went to the Disney Store and Nadia got to pick out a swimming suit. She puts it on every night when she gets home from daycare!
