Summer time!

Last week was a LONG week in the Kuhn house. I had Bronchitis and Strep Throat and it knocked me out for about a week. Darren was Mr. Mom and I have to say did a great job! Thankfully, I was feeling better for Father's Day to give him a break. Lisa and Megan helped out and took Nadia for a night as well...THANK YOU!!

Did you notice Darren's hat in the picture? Nadia pitches a FIT when he takes it off. He tries to take it off when she isn't looking but she walks right up to him and says 'hat.'

We tried to take Nadia to a little beach by our house, but she wasn't too impressed. We came home and let her swim in her pool which she liked much better.

I think potty training is getting closer to reality. Nadia tells us that she has to go poopy, but is scared of the toilet. This is me and Minny singing "Pee Pee in the Potty." She at least sat there, but no go!

Target Field

We finally made it to a game at the new stadium! What a difference a 'real' stadium can make. We went to the game on Friday night with the newlyweds and Saturday with Darren's cousin Corey and family.
Nadia made it through her first game and had a lot of fun people watching, yelling at Uncle Dion and counting during pitches.
She also had fun with her cousin Ashton. He is all boy and she is all girl so the adults all had fun watching the tantrums and cat fights.

Wedding

Another fun Kuhn wedding is in the books! Dion and Laura were married on May 29th and it was a beautiful day.
Nadia started to get sick on our way to ND and it kept getting worse. By Saturday, she had the flu and wasn't able to show off her dance skills that she has been practicing. Thankfully, my parents were there and took great care of our sick little girl while we had fun. Here are a few pics from the big day...

Marathon!

Darren and I both ran in Fargo for the marathon weekend. Darren did the half marathon for his 7th year in a row. I was on a relay team and ran about 6.2 miles. That's enough for me!!
It was a fun weekend. My Mom came to cheer us on and watch Nadia. Darrell and Dorita drove up from Lefor to cheer all of us on as well!
Darren finished in 1 hour and 34 minutes which was a new PR! I finished! :)
We had a great weekend and were able to see family and old friends.

Forgive me Followers for I have sinned...It's been 2 months since my last blog. A lot has happened in the past 2 months so let me start with the highlights:
  1. We are the proud owners of a Minivan...well, I'm the proud owner of a minivan. Darren secretly likes it, but won't say it out loud. Look closely at the pic and you can see our black beauty parked along the street.
  2. Nadia is officially WALKING!! It took a while, but she is finally vertical.
  3. Nadia says 'Bless You' when somebody sneezes.
  4. She also says 'poop' when somebody (Darren) toots
  5. And...favorite word of the moment is....BUTT! She calls her belly button her Butt. AND, yells it loud in church.
We celebrated Mother's Day by going to the Children's Museum. What a fun place! I can't wait to go back when Nadia is a little bit older.

Nadia and I spent a night at my friend, Angie's a few weeks ago. She has a son about the same age as Nadia. They hit it off and chased each other around the house.

My parents came to MN in April to help us paint our bedroom. The room looks great and Nadia got to spend some time with Ya Ya and Pa Pa.

We are off to Fargo next weekend for the marathon. Darren is running the half and I am running on a relay team. There are 4 of us who each have to run about 6 miles. Then, it's wedding time!! I hope Dickinson is ready for another Kuhn wedding!

We had a great weekend spent with family and friends! We started off our weekend with a quick trip to the Mall of America. Nadia loved pointing at all of the roller coasters and we even found a few rides that she could go on.

After the MOA, we checked into the Water Park of America where we got a hotel room with Lisa, Megan and Nora. The water park was a zoo, but I think the babies enjoyed watching the chaos and playing in the water. We did learn a few lessons from this experience:
  1. Get adjoining rooms instead of sharing one large room. We learned very quickly that Nadia and Nora play off each other which led to 3:30 a.m. play time.

  2. Eat less food.

  3. Don't book this weekend over March Madness.

Darrell and Dorita were able to make a quick trip up to see us on Sunday. I think Darrell bought a grain truck in MN just so he had an excuse to come and see Nadia. Expensive excuse, right Darrell? :) They brought Nadia a wagon for Easter and she LOVES it. We took her for a walk on Sunday night and she giggled the whole time.
Here are a few videos from the weekend.

March Madness

I just realized how long it has been since my last post...sorry Mom! Life for us has been full of work, house renovations and keeping up with a 16 month old! Nadia is still a spaz and makes us laugh daily. She loves to dance now and will bust a move as soon as she hears music. She is also finally trying to stand on her own now...still no walking. We're hoping that she'll catch on over the next 2 months. We have been taking her swimming at the gym quite a bit lately. She loves the water and Darren actually took her down the water slide last weekend. She loved it and wouldn't let him stop taking her down!
Darrell, Dorita and Dana came for a weekend visit in February. We all went down to Dion's for a day and did some snowmobiling. Nadia was not too impressed.
We've also been going through some home renovations. Our laundry room and crawl space downstairs are finished and we also have new kitchen appliances, counter tops and a backsplash. I love it! Nadia tried to help Darren take out appliances...he's been waiting for the age when she can help out around the house...he asked for it!Nadia's favorite things right now are her blankie (she calls it her pretty), cheese, ice cream and books. She's finally into books!! We talked Dion into watching her this week for a day since her daycare was closed. It sounds like they had a good time...thank you Dion!
Here are a few pics from the past few weeks...
We are getting excited for the upcoming Months. Ya Ya and Pa Pa Field are coming for a visit in April, we'll be in Fargo in May for the Fargo Marathon and Dion and Laura's wedding is over Memorial Weekend. Bring on the Fun!
