For those of you who followed Darren during his Boston Marathon race, you know that he was very disappointed with his time. Don't get me wrong, he was so happy to finish is those temps, but disappointed in the fact that he made it to Boston and then had to slow down that much due to weather. Of course, he was looking at what race he could do next about a week after we were home. Boston changed qualifying times so he would have to beat 3:10 in order to qualify again-his PR was 3:13 (I believe).
Once again, Darren amazed all of us! My friends Lisa and Krista came with me to cheer him on without any kids so we could make it around the course. Each time we saw him he had a smile on his face and was feeling good! We didn't make it to the finish-he was too fast for us, and I only got one picture that day! 3:04:40 was his official time-INSANE!
So-back to Boston we go! Darren had the choice of waiting until 2014 and decided to give his body a break (sort of-he already has a training plan that he started). :)
The TC Marathon also has family events all weekend and Nadia ran in the Toddler Trot-a 50 yard dash with a bunch of other 3 yr olds. It was hilarious!
So...Boston 2014!! Any friends/family who want to go...start saving now! It's an expensive trip but well worth it! My Mom has already agreed to watch the kids for us so we can enjoy some of Boston that we didn't get to before-BARS! Wahoo! :)
